Dressage Training and IBOP Preparation With Sara Sasso

Rose Hill Friesians is proud to welcome Sara Sasso to the Rose Hill team as our new head trainer! Sara is an international competitor specializing in dressage. For the last six years, Sara has trained in Germany and Holland with Johan Hinnemann and Coby Van Baalen. Prior to that, Sara also trained in Milan, Italy with Olympian Anna Merveldt, who has become a longtime friend and mentor. In 2012, Mr Hinnemann invited Sara to ride one of his young horses while in California at Villa Rosa Dressage. Sara qualified this young horse for the US National Championships, and this talented team won numerous shows throughout California, including a Perpetual Trophy at the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center. Sara has competed in many regional and national championships in her home country, as well as qualifying multiple young horses for the Dutch young horse selections. In 2015, Sara trained Gryphon D for the KFPS/FHANA IBOP performance test and achieved the highest score in North America, winning for Rose Hill the Iron Spring Farm IBOP Dressage Cup! Beginning in 2016, Sara will be focusing on training the Rose Hill Friesians for recognized dressage competitions and preparing them to perform the prestigious IBOP performance test for the Dutch judges at the 2016 KFPS/FHANA keuring.
